Stopping and starting clusters
If necessary, you can stop and restart a DB cluster. You are not charged for the time when your cluster is stopped: you only continue to pay for the storage size and backups based on the pricing policy.
Alert
If a cluster uses a local storage (local-ssd
), its computing resources are not released when it's stopped. This means that you are charged in full even for a stopped cluster.
Stop a cluster
You can stop the cluster if you're not going to use the DBMS you launched for a while.
Management console
To stop all hosts in the cluster:
- Go to the folder page and select Managed Service for MongoDB.
- Select the cluster from the list, click , and select Stop.
- Confirm that you want to stop the cluster and click Stop.
Start a cluster
You can restart STOPPED
clusters.
Management console
To start a cluster:
- Go to the folder page and select Managed Service for MongoDB.
- Select a stopped cluster from the list, click , and select Start.
- Confirm that you want to start the cluster: click Start in the dialog box that opens.
