Stopping and starting clusters

If necessary, you can stop and restart a DB cluster. You are not charged for the time when your cluster is stopped: you only continue to pay for the storage size and backups based on the pricing policy.

Warning

If a cluster uses a local storage (local-ssd), its computing resources are not released when it's stopped. This means that you are charged in full even for a stopped cluster.

Stop a cluster

You can stop the cluster if you're not going to use the DBMS you launched for a while.

To stop all hosts in the cluster:

  1. Go to the folder page and select Managed Service for MongoDB.
  2. Select the cluster from the list, click options, and select Stop.
  3. Confirm that you want to stop the cluster and click Stop.

Start a cluster

You can restart STOPPED clusters.

To start a cluster:

  1. Go to the folder page and select Managed Service for MongoDB.
  2. Select a stopped cluster from the list, click options, and select Start.
  3. Confirm that you want to start the cluster: click Start in the dialog box that opens.
