Visualizing data from AppMetrica

  • Before you start
  • Create a connection and a standard dashboard
  • Edit the standard dashboard

The application added to AppMetrica will be used as the data source. You can view a list of applications available to you under Applications.

If you don't have any apps available, then before performing this scenario, add an app or use the standard AppMetrica dashboard.

To visualize data:

  1. Before you start.
  2. Create a connection and standard dashboard.
  3. Edit the standard dashboard.

Before you start

To use DataLens, sign up for Yandex.Cloud and create a billing account (without a billing account, DataLens is only available in demo mode):

  1. Go to the management console. Then log in to Yandex.Cloud or sign up if don't already have an account.
  2. On the billing page, make sure you linked a billing account, and it has the ACTIVE or TRIAL_ACTIVE status. If you don't have a billing account, create one.

When you activate your billing account, you automatically switch to the Free DataLens plan. By default, you can create a DataLens instance for no more than 1 folder. If you haven't done this yet:

  1. Select a folder on the cloud page.
  2. Select the DataLens service.
  3. Click Activate DataLens.

An instance of the service is created in the selected folder and you can go directly to the DataLens interface.

Create a connection and a standard dashboard

Warning

This step is available to users who have an app in AppMetrica. If you don't have any apps, open the standard AppMetrica dashboard and go to the next step.

  1. Go to DataLens and click Create connection.

  2. Select the AppMetrica connector.

    image

  3. Enter a name for the connection: My AppMetrica, then click Get token.

    image

If this is your first connection to an AppMetrica app, grant the necessary permissions to the service.

  4. Select an app from the drop-down list.

  5. Specify the connection settings:

    image

    1. Set the data accuracy (sampling rate). You can change accuracy after you create the connection.
    2. Select the Direct access connection type.
    3. Enable Automatically create a dashboard on this connection.
  6. In the upper-right corner, click Create.

When the connection is created, a folder containing a dashboard and a set of datasets and charts opens.

Edit the standard dashboard

Warning

If you don't have an app in AppMetrica and you skipped the previous step, use the AppMetrica dashboard.

You can edit the standard dashboard however you want. For example, you can delete a chart, change its size, or change the visualization type.

  1. Open the dashboard.

  2. Click Edit in the upper-right corner.

    image

  3. To delete the Click dynamics widget, click in the upper-right corner.

    image

  4. To change the size of the Installation dynamics widget, drag it by the lower-right corner.

  5. Click Save in the upper-right corner to save the dashboard.
