Getting started with Yandex Cloud
The Yandex Cloud platform has several user interfaces, e.g., the management console
Creating a billing account
When creating your first billing account linked to your user account, you will get your initial grant.
Log in using Yandex ID and go to the management console. Confirm the creation of your first cloud and go on to create your billing account:

Go to Yandex Cloud Billing

On the Accounts page, click Create an account. Fill in your information:
- Select the payer country.
- Specify the name of the billing account to be displayed in the list of billing accounts.

If you see a list of available payers in the Payers section, you can select one of them or add a new one.

To add a new payer, select Payer type:
- Individual: For residents of Russia or Kazakhstan.
- Business or individual entrepreneur: For residents and non-residents of Russia or Kazakhstan.

Note
Under one user account, all payers must be either residents of Russia, residents of Kazakhstan, or residents of other countries.
To create a billing account:

Log in to your Yandex ID or Yandex 360 account. If you do not have an account yet, sign up
and create an organization to work in Yandex Cloud Organization . If you use a social network profile to log in to Yandex, create a username and password . -
On the Accounts page, click Create billing account. Fill in your information:

Enter the name of the billing account. The name is displayed in the list of your billing accounts and helps you select the one you need.

In the Organization field, select the organization to create a billing account for.

Select the country that the payer is a resident of.
Under one Yandex account, all payers must be either residents of Russia, residents of Kazakhstan, or residents of other countries.

If you see a list of available payers in the Payer section, you can select one of them or add a new one. To add a payer:
- Select the Individual payer type and click Next.
- Enter your first and last name.
- (Optional) Enter your middle name and mailing address.
- Click Next.
- Click Add card.
- Specify your card details: 16-digit number, expiration date, and CVV (you can find it on the back side of your card).
- Click Link.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and MIR bank cards.
- Residents of Russia make payments in RUB and can only use bank cards issued by Russian banks.
- Residents of Kazakhstan make payments in KZT and can only use bank cards issued by non-Russian banks.
To make sure your bank card is valid, we will hold a small amount (RUB 11) on your account. This amount will not be charged and will become available once the verification is complete. The amount of time required to release the funds held depends on your bank.

Enter your current email address and phone number. Contact details are required not only to reach you, but also to issue payment invoices and send financial documents. If you have already signed up for Yandex Cloud, check that your contact details are correct.

If this is your first Yandex Cloud billing account, you are eligible for a trial period.
Note
Sometimes, additional verification may be required when you create a billing account with a trial period. You will find a message with detailed instructions on the page of this billing account in Yandex Cloud Billing.
- When enabling the trial period, remember that after its expiration, your resources will be suspended. To resume operation, you will need to switch to the paid version.
- If you do not activate the trial period at this stage, your account will be created as a paid account. In this case, after using up the initial grant, you will not have to upgrade to the paid version.

If you selected Bank card as a payment method:

Enter the legal information of your organization and your contact details.
Note
Carefully fill in your contact information and payment details. This information is required not only to contact you, but also to issue payment invoices and send financial documents.

Link your corporate bank card:
- Click Add card.
- Specify your card details: 16-digit number, expiration date, and CVV (you can find it on the back side of your card).
- Click Link.

Confirm that the card is a corporate one and you are authorized to use it.

Click Next.

If you select the Bank transfer payment method or if the payer is a non-resident of Russia or Kazakhstan, you will receive an email with further instructions at the email address specified in your Yandex or Yandex 360 account. It may take up to three business days to activate your billing account.
FAQ
Questions about billing accounts and paid accounts
Why do I need a billing account with a linked bank card?
Billing accounts are used to identify users paying for Yandex Cloud resources. Even if you plan to use only free services, you still need a billing account: grants and promo codes are credited to it.
To activate a billing account, we require you to link a bank card to make sure that you are a human and not a robot. When linking the card, a small amount will be debited and immediately returned. That is how we verify that your card is real.
Payment for Yandex Cloud services and resources will be debited from your bank card only after you explicitly allow this, that is, after you switch to a paid account.
What happens after the trial period ends? Will you start debiting money right away?
Yandex Cloud does not debit money and does not invoice you until you have switched to a paid account. The switching to paid consumption never happens automatically.
However, if your grant has expired, access to your resources will be blocked for 60 days or until you switch to paid consumption. For more information about expiry of the trial period, see End of trial period.
Questions about the initial grant
I accidentally switched to a paid account. Did I lose my initial grant? Can I get it back?
No, you cannot switch back to the trial version, but the grant will not be lost. The initial grant will be used up first. For more information about the order in which funds are spent, see Billing cycle for individuals and Billing cycle for businesses and individual entrepreneurs.
I have not used up the initial grant, but my cloud is blocked. What should I do?
The cloud may be blocked for a few reasons:

Make sure that a valid card is linked to your account. If you linked the card and then deleted it, your account may be blocked.

The initial grant is provisionally divided into two parts that can be used at the same time. One part covers payment for the Compute service, the other part — the rest of the Yandex Cloud services. If you run out of one part, you can continue using the cloud by switching to a paid account. The unspent part of the grant will be preserved. For more information about using the initial grant and switching to a paid period, see Upgrading to the paid version.
I could not use up the initial grant in 60 days. Can I use Yandex Cloud?
When the initial grant expires, the total unused amount is offset, and the access to your resources is suspended for 30 days. To continue using Yandex Cloud, switch to a paid plan.
